Riffiti

Get multiple 20-sec video perspectives on any question you ask.

Monday, April 13, 2015

Real people in Riffiti community speak into mobile video for up to 20 seconds on any question you ask, and pretty soon you'll see a stream of video responses on that particular question. More important, you get to add your own perspective to a question. The app is free. Riffiti brings the power of diversity and accumulation to social perspectives. We are betting on a future where the skills of higher-order thinking and seeing the big picture are learned more and more from a series of short-duration answers to well-formed questions on a specific topic. A great number of applications are out there for this app, in education, in social learning, in arts and crafts, etc. Basically short questions are asked by large populations and 20-second video answers are provided by the large populations. That's our goal. You'll love Riffiti if you are willing and open to share your perspective in order to help others learn. In specific: - a high school teacher, and a community college instructor, and a college professor, on the one hand, and, - students in a school, college and a university. - improv artists, improv students, improv teachers - in general any performing arts students who are not shy of mobile video selfies - foreign language learners--speak for 20 seconds and native-speakers respond via video explaining where they need to improve - story-tellers who can tell stories on the same topic from multiple perspectives Put in other words, the traditional class-room-centric, MOOC-model is feed-forward, where a single teacher teaches to large populations of students. On the other hand, at Riffiti we believe that when it comes to learning, it no longer makes sense to learn and educate ourselves from just one person. Riffiti is a mobile product to learn from multiple perspectives. On Riffiti you will be a part of the experience where large populations of students and teachers engage in learning with the same large populations of teachers and students.
