## What is Hacker News? If you’re a tech enthusiast like us, chances are you know who Y Combinator is and what Hacker News (HN) is. For those of you who are not as familiar with them, allow us to introduce you to one of our favorite community sites for the latest tech news and more. Hacker News is a social news website focusing on computer science and entrepreneurship. It is run by Paul Graham's investment fund and startup Incubator, Y Combinator. In general, the content submitted is defined as "anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity". ## What is the experiment? As a rule, a community site that becomes popular will decline in quality. Y Combinator's hypothesis is that this is not inevitable, and that by making a conscious effort to resist decline, we can keep it from happening. ## Why another app? We have officially decided to join the experiment by developing a minimum viable product (MVP) for iOS. Phase one will include the ability to switch between the latest and most popular stories along with the ability to search the last 100 articles. In addition we will also be collecting user feedback from the reviews on the App Store which will be the driving force for phase two.
