Banter lets you see the busyness and vibe of nearby bars & clubs

Banter is the Waze for nightlife. It's a mobile app, available now on iOS and Android, that provides you with real-time information about busyness, vibe, etc., at local bars, restaurants, clubs, live music venues, etc., by letting you see photos and (soon) videos shared by people that are there. We're capitalizing on media-sharing behaviors fueled by the likes of Instagram, Snapchat and now Periscope and Meerkat, but isolating these behaviors into a tangible, focused, frequent and popular use case - sharing how your party is, and being able to see where the party's at in your city. We want our users to be able to easily decide what to do and where to go, and to connect with other nightlife-lovers in their city and around the world. Our goal is to create a global community of nightlife-lovers that want to capture and share photos and videos when they're going out so that other users can see how awesome or lame where they're at is like. In select cities, the app also provides you with tons of nearby happy hours, live music shows, DJs, etc., all in real-time. Banter launched as an MVP a few months ago and was in a pilot stage in San Francisco up until end of May, when we began expanding to other cities. Part of the content (real-time happy hours, live music shows, etc.) is currently available in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles, and will be available in Miami, Boston and Austin in the next few weeks. However, user content (real-time info on occupancy, photos, etc.) can be created and generated from anywhere. Banter has been mainly bootstrapped and is in the process of closing a $200K seed round at a $1.5M pre-money valuation, led by an international investment fund. The team contains a full-time team of three (CEO, CTO and iOS Dev) working in San Francisco.
