A grid library for instant big data processing.
Monday, February 6, 2023
Our team is constantly working on specific web products for developers. Data visualization is our passion, and we've been developing web reporting tools as pivot table components for more than 14 years. Over the years, we were often asked by our clients about a simple grid to show tabular data, and many grids on the market actually cope with it. So we felt that we don't want to do one more grid. We wanted to challenge ourselves, and we tried to look at the existing products and understand what uniqueness we could offer to customers. What additional value, except for data visualization, can we offer? We deeply dived into the topic and saw how time-consuming working with big datasets is. So we challenged ourselves with a more complex task - to save users' time. So we set our goal to create a product that can get end-users access to the data instantly despite the volumes, without time spent on reloading data & redrawing the grid each time the user interacts with it. Considering core stages when working with big data - data loading, preprocessing, and then its visualization on the web - we develop a unique approach that allows us to optimize all these steps and not overlap them. It's a known fact that people regard any action as immediate if it occurs in less than 0.1 seconds. So our grid should load, show & interact with gigabytes of data in less than 0.1 seconds. Well, we did it. DataTableDev is a grid with maximum speed and efficiency. Developed to display and analyze millions of rows in a split second, it will be a true find for effective data visualization. Based on new technology, this grid instantly handles and shows gigabytes of your data. At once, users experience smooth scrolling and perfect performance of any action. It can be easily embedded into any web page or application. The project is still in the development stage, swiftly moving to release. The demo is ready now, and you can test the approach on a 1,6 GB file with 11 million records and discover how fast our grid is. We will value any expert feedback or suggestions, especially from developers and analytics who work with big data, that will help us improve our product further.
