<p>Qnetic's energy storage will enable the sustainable energy revolution. Our new flywheel-based technology is the world's best energy storage: low-cost, long-discharge and long-life, making ideally suited to daily energy shifting. </p> <p>Qnetic is solving the problem of intermittency of renewables energy sources—solar and wind power—by providing an energy storage solution based on new flywheel technology. It works by taking in energy from renewable sources when it is available—solar in the day and wind at night—and discharging it at peak consumer demand during the daily cycle. This is called daily energy shifting and Qnetic is designed specifically for this. Qnetic's energy capacity is a ground-breaking 2,000kWh.</p> <p>Qnetic is projected to have a levelised cost of storage (LCOS) 38% cheaper than Li-ion for the energy shifting application, even allowing for Li-ion's assumed cost declines by 2030. This is thanks to its low capex, low opex, long-life of 15,000 cycles, and high efficiency, making it a very compelling storage solution for electric grids.</p> <p>United around the mission to enable the transition our civilisation to sustainable energy and the end of fossil fuels is a powerhouse of experts in engineering, design, supply chain and business strategy.</p> <p>The market for stationary energy storage is in exponential growth over the coming decade, doubling every three years (30% CAGR). The need to stop burning fossil fuels is so extreme that many technologies will be needed to enable the transition. We believe that Li-ion batteries are not the ideal stationary storage technology due to their technical limitations and extremely high demand in other sectors like transport.</p> <p>Qnetic is currently in the design and development phase with small and large-scale prototypes planned before pilot facilities comprising many Qnetic connected and working together as a grid-scale battery.</p>
