Private.Ki

Encrypted email and messenger in one app

Posted Tuesday, October 20, 2026

Private.Ki is a private email and messaging service. One account comes with an email address, a messenger for one-to-one and group chats, voice and video calls, a notebook for private notes and a drive for files. It runs in any modern browser, with nothing to install. The difference from ordinary providers is that nobody else can read any of it: Emails, chats, notes and files are encrypted on the sender's own device, before they travel anywhere, and only the person they were sent to can open them. Private.Ki itself cannot: not its staff, not its administrators, not anyone who steals a server. Voice and video calls are encrypted the same way, so a call is as private as a message. The mailbox is a full email service, not a closed network. Mail between Private.Ki addresses is protected automatically; mail to Gmail, Outlook or any other provider is sent and received normally, and can be encrypted too whenever the recipient has a key for it. Attachments travel encrypted, conversations are threaded, and the mailbox is searchable. The sender stays in control after pressing send. A message can be taken back, or set to destroy itself after a chosen time. Every email shows at a glance whether it arrived encrypted and who signed it, so trust is visible instead of assumed. Chats carry the same protections, along with group conversations and stickers. Getting started takes seconds. A conversation can be opened without creating an account at all, and a full account is just a name and a password — no phone number, no existing email address required. Accounts can be locked with a security key, a passkey or an authenticator app, and the whole service is reachable over the Tor network. Private.Ki is also deliberately transparent about its limits: the website publishes, item by item, exactly what its servers can and cannot see. Data export and account deletion are self-service, available at any moment.
