I am a big fan of other social media apps like Snapchat and Instragram, but working in an office all day, I found I had very little content to share with friends unless I was doing something out of the ordinary. This is when I came up with the idea of ChalkStory, which allows you to have banter with your mates by re-living past experiences. With ChalkStory your limited by your creativity rather than your surroundings. ChalkStory allows you to record what your draw, but allows you to pause your recording whilst still drawing, so when you continue the recording, the changes appear instantly in order to create animation. The editor contains a scrubber, so you can scroll back and watch your video whilst still making changes. Once you’ve completed your masterpiece, you can share with your friends through the apps messaging system. Search from friends and apply them to your friends list for quick messaging next time. The app also allows you to lock your video before sending, so the recipient doesn’t have the option to save or forward your video on. Our aim is to make ChalkStory as user friendly as possible, and if you’re like me you probably don’t like adds popping up every few seconds. The ChalkStory app doesn’t include any pop up adds, and instead adds are actual video sketches, in order to encourage advertisers to create fun and creative content. ChalkStory has a 90 second video limited, so you can spend seconds creating a smiley face with your finger, or spend an hour with a stylus creating a masterpiece. It’s entirely up to you.
