I am an ODU student and one of the founders of a new website which has just launched at Old Dominion University! The website is a textbook exchange for ODU students, helping them buy and sell books with each other. We just launched at ODU this semester and we couldn't believe the results. We had over 300 students sign-on, and together they bought over $1,300 in books and saved over $3,700 compared to what they would've paid at the university bookstore! We were blown away from the responses that we got from students! Students told us about how much money they had saved, how much easier it was, and how much they appreciated that there was finally a better way for them to get their books. The Virginia Pilot, Inside Business - The Hampton Roads Business Journal, and The Mace and Crown newspaper has already written articles about the site, and it has been talked about on the air by WODU studios. We will also continue to meet with the consultants at the STROME Entrepreneurial Center at ODU and are very appreciative of the entrepreneurial focus the University has established.
