Don't Buy Tools/Equipment, Wheelborrow Them

Wheelborrow is a peer to peer tool and equipment sharing platform. We launched earlier this year and have been steadily adding users since. The way we quickly describe Wheelborrow is: We are the airbnb of tools and equipment. Here is an example. An individual (user A) owns a power washer. It sits in her garage...for a long time. Statistically, it will be used for less than 4 hours per year. User B is a homeowner who needs to power wash his deck. He basically has a few options, none of which are great. He can buy a power washer, which is financially a poor decision (remember you will use it 4 hrs a year). He can rent it from an equipment rental company (such as Taylor Rental) but that is expensive and empiricle evidence suggests he does not live close to a location. His best option would be to borrow a power washer from someone in his vicinity. There is a tremendous opportunity to close this inefficiency gap that exists today. Connecting user A to user B is a net positive for everyone involved. The owner of the power washer can offset some of the cost of purchasing her washer, the borrower has a much more convienient and cost efficient option. There are also numerous ancillary benefits that come with a drastic reduction in consumption, both environmentally and socio-economically. We are passionate about changing consumer behavior in society.
